Spaghetti Bolognese

 

It’s a family classic for a reason and on rotation in most Aussie kitchens. Here is our version, with a few options for those who may want to add in some extra veggies.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 x onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp crushed garlic (or freshly crushed)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp or a splash of Corporal Freddies Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 x 500g jar bolognese pasta sauce (or your preferred flavour sauce)
  • 1 x 400g tin crushed tomatoes
  • 500g beef mince
  • 500g spaghetti pasta (or your pasta of choice)
  • (Option) 2 x carrots, finely chopped
  • (Option) 2 x celery sticks, finely chopped
  • (Option) Parmesan and chopped parsley for garnish

Method

  1. On low heat add olive oil to the pan
  2. Add onion and garlic and cook until soft
  3. Add ground beef and cook until brown
  4. Add tomato paste and stir through
  5. Add tin tomatoes and jar of pasta sauce and stir through
  6. Add Corporal Freddie's Worcestershire and stir through
  7. (Option) Add optional veggies if desired
  8. Cook for 30 minutes with lid on, stirring occasionally
  9. While cooking, cook spaghetti pasta in pot
  10. (Option) add a pinch of salt and 1 tsp olive oil
  11. Cook pasta until al dente and strain
  12. Serve the spaghetti pasta with bolognese sauce

(Optional) Sprinkle parmesan cheese over top and parsley if desired and ENJOY
